We call ourselves the Mustang Club of Mid-Michigan, so as the name implies we all have the same interest, the cars. However, I think there is much more to it than the cars. Our people or the members are what we are all about. Without the great diverse membership that we have, our club would be just another small, out-of-the-way group of individuals. Our club is known, not only in Michigan but in many other states and also the Mustang Club of America knows about us to. With that I wish to thank everyone who helped with the show and all the other activities through out the year. A big thank you goes out to Wally Wilcox who got all those tote bags for us. Each participant at our show received one.
Welcome to all the new members that have come to our club
this past year.
Also to the new members that joined just in the last month.
A big thank you goes out to Mike and Rebecca Winter for hosting our annual hayride. It sure was a lot of fun, and there was plenty of food to eat. Again, thank you.
The October monthly meeting will be at the Bavarian lodge
in Frankenmuth.
This is the large building just east of the covered bridge. The regular
meeting is at 7:00 pm with the board meeting starting at 6:00 pm. Remember
that anyone can attend the board meetings.
Congratulations to all who ran for elected office for the coming year. It does take some time and effort to do these jobs. It is a lot of fun along the way and the people that are stepping down will always be there to help. No one will be left to go it alone.
Remember don’t be a stranger.
My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.
Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.
If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.

THE PREZ SEZ
Greetings MCMM members and
friends:
We have just finished our most successful (and fun) car show ever. I was
told several times during the show what a nice show it was. I have heard it
many times since then. We could not have done it without good organization
and such a great team. Here are the numbers from my perspective: Goody bag
stuffing/monthly meeting - 29 members; Saturday setup - 23 members with 11
of those for dinner after we finished setting up; working the show,
attending, bringing a car to show or working as a vendor - 58 members and 29
of those for dinner after the show. We had 22 member cars on display at the
show. To me these numbers are very rewarding and a great pleasure to see. I
can not say ‘THANK YOU” enough.
We also participated in the Friday Night Big Block party on September 9th in Frankenmuth. We were able to share the old brewery office parking lot with some others. We had a couple of stray Camaros. We had 23 club member’s cars and a total of 41 members and several friends from other locations with their Mustangs. It was dusty but fun.
Another recent outing was participating in the Clio High School (Mustangs) parade. We had 7 club cars and 10 members present.
We have been in contact with Hagerty Insurance Co. regarding their “No Collector Car Left Behind” legislation to help lessen the restrictions on our collectable cars and lower insurance rates. We were represented at the press conference and rally last Tuesday as 65 collector cars circled the State Capitol.
Last Saturday’s hayride and potluck was quite a fun event. I think we had more fun than last year! At least there was more hay thrown. WE had 36 members and their guests in attendance. While we are on that subject, I must share a lesson I have learned. It is almost impossible to combine a business meeting with a fun or work event….like the picnic, hayride or even the goody bag stuffing. It is just too difficult for everyone to be aware of what is being discussed. I, therefore, must apologize for trying to combine those events with a business meeting. We WILL HAVE our REGULAR MEETING ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 17TH at the Bavarian Inn Lodge at 7 pm.
Gary & Linda Riley will again be organizing the Christmas Party. The format will be similar to last year. They already have a volunteer to help with the centerpieces and another volunteer to help with the games. If you would like to help in any way contact Gary & Linda at (810) 631-6601.
We have 12” magnet MCMM logo signs for sale to members. They are $30 a pair. The club will have 4 pair for club use as needed.
Finally, the Bentley’s black 1964 ˝ Mustang convertible has recently been featured in three print media. (Hopefully, their names will be correct the next time.)
We look forward to seeing you at the October 17th meeting.
Gary Strappazon
