Tips/Comments
By Stan
This is the time of year here in Michigan where we put away our Mustangs and get ready for winter. This is a great time to be in the Mustang Club as there are lots of things going on. We have a new Board coming on and they already have had meetings and are making plans for the coming year. This is your Club so if you have ideas or want to get more involved, just attend the monthly meetings. Also remember that anyone can attend the Board meetings. Everyone is invited to make comments in this column or you can submit whole articles to the Hoofbeat newsletter. You can also put for sale items here.
Don’t forget the Christmas party; it will be December 11th at the Four Occasions Hall in Millington. This year it will be 15.00 per person and this includes everything, and a festive time with friends is guaranteed. Please pre- pay so Linda Riley will know how many people are coming. If you say that you are coming and then don’t show the club has to pay for your meal.
I usually don’t endorse products here but this summer at a National show I saw a neat item. It is the front steering assembly for the older Mustangs. It is made by Flaming River Products and is advertised in all the Mustang magazines. It is a bolt-in assembly with no cutting or welding. It actually puts a rack and pinion in place of the old steering mechanism.
There will be no monthly meeting for the month of November.
Remember don’t be a stranger.
Someone who thinks logically provides a nice contrast to the real world.
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
Thou shall not weigh more than thy refrigerator.

Membership Committee Report: We have 2 new members; Ron Loudenslager and Jennie Davison. They bring our total to 67 families.
MCMM Wrap-Up: Stan Bentley stated that we are receiving positive feed back from various websites. Also there were good comments from people attending the show. We had our best participation from Club members. Hooray! Club members; this is what our Club is all about. Because of our Club participation at the KCQ Musicfest in Saginaw our Club received $7,800 of free advertising from KCQ and $3,600 free advertising from JOE FM radio.
Ruth Bentley sent an article and pictures of our show to Mustang Times and also to Mustangs Unlimited.
MCMM 2005 Charity Donation: Dick Lebsack made a motion that we donate $1,000 to the National Spinal Cord Injury Association, requesting that the donation be sent to the Mary Freebed Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. This donation was made in the name of a Club member’s daughter who was injured in a snowmobile accident. Motion seconded by Gary Riley. Motion carried.
MCMM Financial Report: Gregg Glaviano gave an extensive financial report to the membership.
2006 “Be Cool” Show: The dates are Friday, July 7th and Saturday, July 8th. Friday night will be a cruise with 100 cars parked on the street. It will be patterned after the AutoFest Friday Night in Frankenmuth. Saturday will be the regular car show in down town Bay City. They will not have a car show on Sunday. The “Be Cool” car show donates $10,000 to the Cancer Foundation.

Cargo Trailer: So far the cost of a cargo trailer would be between $4,000 & $6,000. We are still looking, but have tabled this project until spring.
No Collector Car Left Behind: This proposed legislation is sponsored by Representative Howard Baker. It is House Bill #4362. Basically, it would reduce the cost of licensing classic cars. All Club members present signed the petition to support the bill.

THE PREZ SEZ
Well this is one of the last times THIS Prez Sez! I must say these past two years have really flown by! It is hard to believe that 22 months ago I was also trying to figure out what to write. I am proud and honored to have served as your president these past two years. Also, I must say several Board Members have expressed to me that they enjoyed working for our membership these past years. We hope that we served you well.
Remember, your Board members are all just
a phone call away.
As the current Board of Directors leaves office, six of the nine offices
will have new faces, with three members entirely new to the Board. We look
forward to some new and exciting ideas to come forth.
I am confident that as some of us leave office and others leave the Board
completely, we are leaving the Club in good financial shape, with a core of
good leadership and a large number of committed and active members. Most
importantly, we are leaving with a smooth transition of leadership.
Once again, thank you for your confidence, your support and your commitment. I almost forgot to thank you for your prayers. You all know I have needed those!
Gary Strappazon
