TIPS/COMMENTS
BY STAN
As most of you know the second MCA show of 2008 will be in Columbus, OH. The dates are June 20th to the 22nd. This is a one day drive from our area. There are three club members and their cars going from our club. We will leave early Friday, June 20th for the five hour drive. We should get there about two or three in the afternoon, allowing for a few stops along the way. We have one extra room reserved so if some one else is interested in going they would be more than welcome. You can also make your own reservations if you decide to go. You do not have to have a perfect car to go. There are lots of daily driver and modified cars there. If you have a newer Mustang there are lots of them there also. This is a gathering of all Mustangs, new and old.
There is also a national Mustang show in Canada this year. It is a five hour drive from our area. There are several of our members that will be going to this one. It runs from Aug. 1st to Aug. 3rd. If you are planning to go to Canada you will need a passport.
We are planning a one day tour around the thumb of Michigan. It will be called the frostbite tour and will take place on May 31st. This is the last Saturday in May so we should have our cars out by then. We will meet at Birch Run for breakfast and then make several stops and a later lunch. There will be more details later.
Remember the Show and shine, as this is in May also. This takes place at the Ford dealership in Saginaw on Bay Road on May 17th. We always have a lot of fun there and it benefits the veterans of Saginaw County.
Thanks to all who paid their dues, this helps pay for the newsletter that comes to you each month.
Remember don’t be a stranger.

I’m not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing.
Out of my mind - back in five minutes.
God must love stupid people: He made so many.
Earth is the insane asylum for the universe.

THE PREZ SEZ
Luck of the Irish to ya! Happy Saint Patty’s Day! Don’t forget its March the 17th and sleep the 18th! OK, enough with the jokes.
I want to wish a Happy Easter to all of you.
I hope that all who attended the Chili Potluck last month had an enjoyable time. I hear that there were 11 young people there to enjoy the facilities and run the adults ragged!
Classic Designs Concepts attended our meeting in February to introduce us to some of their new products and even brought a “Glassback” version of the new Mustang for us to look over! A short movie was shown and information about their “Flashback” Mustang was passed out to attending members. They are both impressive cars, but out of my price range (unless I hit the lotto, but then I’d have to play it first!)
Now for an update on my wife’s condition. She is recovering from her surgery but she is still very sore! Total recovery time will take a little longer than expected, but show season should still be a good time for her.
Until next time, keep your wheels turning and your gas tank full!

CHILI POTLUCK
REPORTED BY ROSE MAIER
We held our 3rd annual chili potluck on Saturday, February 16th at the Valley Plaza Resort. 28 people attended including 11 children. We held match box car races for the children as well as for the adults. There was swimming available at the hotel pool. Everyone who participated enjoyed the event. There were many variations of chili and they all were delicious, because we have some great cooks as members of our club. The event started with a slight accident. Diane Williams’ granddaughter slipped on some ice outside the hotel and hurt her ankle. Diane and her granddaughter left to return home so they were not able to attend the party. We checked on her granddaughter later that evening and she was doing well. We wish her a speedy recovery. We are already looking forward to the 4th annual chili potluck next year.

MCMM 2008 SHOW
REPORTED BY QUENTIN LEVITTE
Only seven months to go…..that’s right boys and girls only seven months before our annual All Ford Show. At the moment Pat and I are down here in Florida for the month of February and Stan and Ruth are down here for the duration of the non-growing season in Michigan. Yet, we all find time to plan and work on the show. Last week Stan and I drove around central Florida trying to buy enough trophies from a variety of stores (don’t feel sorry for us. . . we had the top down on Stan’s beautiful 1993 Triple White Mustang). We ended up with approximately 135 trophies and we needed more. Stan suggested we call Gary Riley and have him check out the stores in Michigan (Gary did not have his top down on his beautiful First Generation Mustang while driving to Lapeer). Gary was able to fill out our order and the trophies now just need a little work on our part to be finished. I hope to have them done and bring one to our meeting in March or April.
We have also been working on the show flyer. A rough draft was sent o the Board a few weeks ago asking for their input. The flyer will be finished once we get all the sponsors lined up. I hope to have this finished by April. Stan and I are getting help from my son and his wife Susan. Susan works for an advertising agency in Green Bay and did the initial layout for the flyer. Certain classes have been eliminated based on the lack of participants over the past couple of years. I hope this fires you up for the show next fall and if you have any questions or want to lend a hand just give Stan or me a call.
Well Friends, Stan went golfing this morning and Ruth went to a Broadway play in Tampa. The temperature is now in the mid 70’s and Pat and I are going to the beach.

It’s winter here in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow,
Seventy miles an hour,
At twenty five below.
Oh, how I love ole Michigan
When the snow’s up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter
And your nose freezes shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I’ll hang around.
I could never leave my Michigan
Cause I’m frozen to the ground!
(This poem brought to you by all the MCMM Snowbirds that are anywhere else but MICHIGAN.)
