Tips/Comments
By Stan

I’ve had problems with the ole ‘68, seems she just doesn’t want to run right. After much checking I determined that the coil was bad. After putting on a new one the problem was solved. It was almost 40 years old so I guess that it did its job well. Also had problems with another car that was giving us fits by running good and then bad. I tried an old trick that I learned many years ago, and that is lifting the hood and starting the car in a dark place. When the spark plug wires are bad you can see little sparks jumping here and there. Sometimes when the engine warms up they quit and sometimes they don’t. In any case you need some new wires.

It was great to see so many of our club members at the Saginaw Show and Shine. It was also great to see so many people that showed up just to help support the veterans and to swap tales with fellow car owners. It was also good that it was a nice sunny, warm day. We collected $650.00 and gave it all to the Veterans of Saginaw County.

On June 4th we met at the Clio Big Boy and we had seven cars that caravanned to Flat Rock, MI where the new Mustang is built. To watch all the cars being built is mind boggling. They start out as a flat piece of metal and end up as a nice new shiny Mustang we all love.

Don’t forget this month’s meeting is at our house, there is 2 miles of gravel road so if you don’t want to drive your Mustang that’s ok. It’s not that bad I drive ours on it all the time.

Remember don’t be a stranger.

Why did the cow get a divorce? She got a bum steer.
The bald man would like very much to part with his comb and brush.
Two boll weevils came from the country to the city. One became rich and famous. The other remained the lesser of two weevils.

THE PREZ SEZ

June is upon us, the weather is FINALLY warm, the pony’s are out the tops are down. A very busy June awaits us. We have the Auto Alliance Plant Tour, the new home of our favorite car on Saturday, June 4th. The following weekend, June 11th and 12th we have the first ever “Bavarian Pony Corral” in Frankenmuth. On Saturday, June 18th we have the 12th Annual KCQ Musicfest. The following weekend we don’t have a specific Club function, but the annual Sloan Summer Fair is in Flint that weekend. If I am not mistaken, I think the Thursday night before is the Big Cruise at the Flushing A&W. Also, MCMM is furnishing some Mustangs for the July 2nd parade in Bay City. Contact Charles & Lova Reinhardt at (989) 891-0414 if you want to help out.

Speaking of Lova Reinhardt, I am pleased to announce that she has accepted the position of Club Historian. She will archive pictures, etc. We are trying to get her a show flyer from each year and other items of that nature. If you have any historical items, please see that she gets them.

The Show & Shine went off well. There were some major glitches, but most outsiders didn’t notice. Thanks to all who worked, showed their cars or just stopped by to chat. We had 64 vehicles and donated a total of $650.00 to the Saginaw Veterans Plaza.

I also want to say a word about the Bavarian Pony Corral. This is our second invitation to be in Eddie Zehnder Park on Main Street in Frankenmuth. We should be very pleased and proud to be there. The event will consist of a car show both Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th. Saturday, June 11 will be from 9 AM-6 PM and on Sunday, June 12th from 9 AM-until after the parade. There will be dash plaques, goody bags, and trophies. Selected convertibles will be used in the Sunday parade. On Saturday there will be a photo shoot, an informal cruise and dinner at the Fortress Golf Course. No pre-registration is necessary, but DINNER RESERVATIONS ARE NECESSARY. Call Gary at (989) 652-4842 if he does not have your name and the number of people attending the dinner.

Finally a word about KCQ Musicfest. I will be meeting with Becky before the event. I have the sign-up sheet from our May meeting; if anything changes I will call or e-mail everyone with the new information. Otherwise, plan on being on the Island NO later then 6:30-7:00 AM to work.

There just is no reason not to be out and enjoying the Mustang hobby.
