TIPS/COMMENTS
BY STAN
We are off and running with some great summer weather. We knew that there would be plenty to do once the weather got warm. We started by touring the Flat Rock plant. We also had a great day at our Show and Shine in Saginaw. Our first parade was in Frankenmuth with four cars and many people at our display at the park. The two older cars in the parade were running a little hot but they made it the whole distance.
Coming up on July 9th and 10th is the “Be Cool” show in Bay City. This is a fun time where we can all get together and look at all the other fine cars and just have fun. Also there they have the Pit Change contest. We won last year by a huge margin but I feel that the Corvette guys haven’t forgotten and will be back with a vengeance. Come on out and cheer our team on, we would sure like to win again and beat the Corvette team. On Sunday July 10th the location changes to Essexville with a very relaxed atmosphere and there is a free lunch at the “Be Cool” warehouse and sales room.
Remember don’t be a stranger.
When is a doctor like an angry man? When he loses his patience.
When is a department store like a boat? When it has sails.
When is roast beef highest in price? When it is rarest.

Old Business: Minutes &Treasurer’s report approved as printed in the
newsletter.
Show & Shine: Our club presented a check in the amount of $650 to the Saginaw Veteran’s Memorial Plaza. The money was the proceeds from the Show & Shine show. There were 64 classic cars of all shapes, sizes and colors. A Boy Scout troupe from Saginaw sold hotdogs, chips and pop at a very good price. All American Ford was very pleased with the event and are talking about this event for 2006.
Plant Tour at Flat Rock: 27 members attended along with members from two other Mustang Clubs. Everyone enjoyed the tour & learned a lot about how the car is made.
Bavarian Pony Corral: This was held in conjunction with the Bavarian Festival in Frankenmuth. We had a total of 35 cars for the two days, including one from Tampa, FL. 4 cars participated in the parade on Sunday. The club donated $200 of our profits to the Harvey Kern Memorial in Frankenmuth.
Coupar Creation of Frankenmuth (they do all kinds of embroidery on shirts, hats, etc.) presented 5 unique trophies. The winners were: Del Zimmerman, Tom Volpe, Bill Hoard, Dave DeSilva &Diane Williams.
KCQ Musicfest: We had 21 MCMM members come & help with the show. KCQ people were very pleased with our participation. As an additional benefit for our club we will get free advertising for our show on their radio stations. As a traffic director Melissa was pleased because she had the opportunity to direct the police where to go.
New Business: The summer club picnic will be on Saturday, August 27th at the Deerfield Township Park (map will be in August newsletter). Arrive at noon and we will eat at 1:00 pm. Bring a dish to pass, your table service and lawn chairs. Ada Hoard will be the Activities Director.
Wedding: Melissa Morris & Leif Johnson have invited the club to help celebrate their marriage by joining them at their wedding reception on July 9th.
MUSTANG CLUB OF AMERICA: The MCA is hosting a special membership drive, for each club member that signs up for MCA our club will receive $10. Stan Bentley is sending for the enrollment kit. So if you are considering joining contact Stan at (810) 688-3909 before you join.
MCMM All Ford Show: Stan reported that 80 donation request letters were sent out in May and a few responses have been received. The trophies and dash plaques have been ordered and are to be mailed by 8-18-05. We still are in need of items for the raffle table and items for door prizes. If anyone has any ideas or access to supplies PLEASE let us know. HELP!! Gay Riley will reconfirm the DJ for the show.

Ruth Bentley will be placing an order for club shirts, these are the same style, design and color as the shirts from last year. Also Ruth is making a new supply of antenna flags with our club logo on them. Call her at (810) 688-3909 if interested in shirts or flags.
Our September meeting will be Monday, September 12th and will also be our goody bag stuffing party. It will be at the same place as last year - the Thetford Township Hall pavilion on M-57. The club will provide the pizza.
Motion to adjourn and seconded. Meeting adjourned.

THE PREZ SEZ
By the time you get
this, it will be July. We have a lighter schedule this month.
We will have some of our club cars in the parade in Bay City on July 2nd.
Charles & Lova Reinhardt are coordinating that for the club.
Next up is the “Be Cool” show in Bay City & Essexville on July 9th and July 10th. Both days are a lot of fun and a relatively relaxed atmosphere. There will NOT be a cruise on Friday, July 8th this year. However, there WILL be a party and informal car show at Bay Valley Resort starting at 5:00 pm on the 8th. That part is the same as last year. We hope to see you there. If the weather is nice, we will all be driving our Mustangs.
After the “Be Cool” show on Saturday, July 9th, we are ALL…..get it the WHOLE CLUB is invited to the wedding reception of Leif & Melissa at their home in Clio. The invitation and directions are elsewhere in the newsletter. This should be an afternoon and evening to remember as we share their day with them.
Our July regular membership meeting will return to the Bavarian Inn Lodge at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 18th. It will be preceded by the Board of Directors meeting which will begin at 6:00 pm. Come in and sit down, you will not interrupt us.
We had wonderful weather for our minicruise to the Flat Rock Auto Alliance Plant. We were treated to a royal tour on Saturday, June 4th. We were able to not only see the Mustangs in production but also see two 2006 editions of our favorite car. We were also treated to a view of a 2007 SVT/Shelby coupe.
A big thank you to everyone who attended & enjoyed the Bavarian Pony Corral/Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival on June 11th and 12th. We even had one Mustang from the Great American Pony Drive 2005. Jim & Lucy Carroll from Tampa, FL joined us with their red 2005 GT convertible. We were even able to get them in the Sunday parade along with 3 other members’ and their ponies.
Next we had fun and worked at the annual KCQ Musicfest at Ojibway Island in Saginaw. We needed 12-15 volunteers to do the job for KCQ. We had 20 members turn out to help. We should be very proud of ourselves in those numbers. We all worked and then were treated to lunch in the VIP tent. I think we even helped KCQ with things they had not even thought of. Melissa was even able to STOP the police while she directed traffic. This was our 12th consecutive year of helping KCQ. As president, it is very rewarding and very reassuring to have so much help. Thanks again.
Lastly, we again met for strawberries, snacks and fun and of course our June Monthly meeting at the home of Stan & Ruth Bentley. This is the 9th year in a row that they have hosted the June Strawberry Meeting. Thanks, Stan & Ruth, you are great hosts.
That is it for now. We have reviewed June and look forward to July.
Gary Strappazon
