Tips/Comments By Stan
Our sympathy & thoughts go out to Rose
Maier & her family. We will miss Jim & his big smile.
I was reading a car magazine the other day
{what else} and they were saying that if your tires are five years old they are
out dated and should not be used. All of
my tires are five years old and what am I saving all those tires in the shed
for? I thought that I might need them someday. Now I will have to pay 2 to 5 dollars a piece
to get rid of them. Fat chance of that
happening. The tire industry has changed
over the years, and it seems that we have chosen not to keep up with all the
information printed on our tires. When
we need a new set we just go to the tire store and the price seems to get the
most consideration. There is a lot of information printed on tires. The problem is it is in small print and is a
combination of letters and numbers, sort of like a code. It tells us when the tire was made, tread wear
and grades. It also gives information
regarding temperature, inflation pressure, speed rating and the size. All this information is required by the
Department of Transportation {DOT}. The
next big thing is nitrogen in tires. No
car manufacture is using nitrogen as standard equipment at this time. I say that someday all new cars will come with
no spare. I just want to go 70 miles per
hour and feel safe, so the next time I need tires I will probably just ask the
price.
A big thank you to Diane Williams for hosting
the summer picnic. We were not able to
attend but I understand the weather was great and a good time was had by all
who were there.
There are some people who have signed up for
the MCA but have not received their membership number and Mustang Times
magazine. While at the Springfield Show
I talked to Mary Jean Wesche (she takes care of new subscriptions) and she
assured me that it would be taken care of.
If you still are not getting the Magazine let me know.
A big thank you to everyone for the
contributions to the club to allow us to be eligible for the Presidents Award.
I hope to see everyone at the
activities and shows that are happening this summer. Please do your utmost to attend our September
show. This will be at the

working for your club. I know I
did! Some of these positions may be
shared with a spouse. Just think of the
fun and satisfaction of doing a job well done.

RECEIVES MCA PRESIDENT’S AWARD
Your
MCMM club received the Mustang Club of America President’s Award. This was based on a total of 100 points or
more. The points are given for various
activities, events and charities that the club participates in. We scored much more than 100 points and
received the award at the July meeting.
Congratulations to everyone for your contributions to your club.

JAMES F. MAIER
June 24, 1941 – July 24,
2007
It
is with great sadness that we report the passing away of
fellow club member Jim Maier.
Jim and his wife Rose joined
our
club in July, 2004. The Maier’s have
been a great asset to our club. Jim and
Rose could always be counted on to attend the club functions and help out at
our annual car shows. Jim loved his
Mustang and was especially proud of the “Best of Show” trophy he received at
the “Be Cool” car show in 2004. He will
be greatly missed by all. Our heartfelt
sympathy goes out to his wife
Rose
and her family.

MCMM CAR SHOW 2007
Yes, before you know it, our car show will be
here. Summer is going fast and
furious. We would like to see all of our
club members at the MCMM car show at the
One other important item is to have each
member bring an item for the door prize table.
Some suggestions are cans of car wax, brushes, auto wash, glass cleaner,
etc. but I am sure if you use your car sense you could come up with hundreds of
ideas. Visit any car parts store,
Wal-Mart, K-Mart for other ideas.
Suggested price is between $4 and $10.
Another idea would be to have several members pool their money together
and purchase a large prize to be used on the raffle table. The raffle table is a great fund raiser for
the club. This is how many of the clubs
sponsor their car shows and get their prizes – they ask their members. Bring them to the next meeting so we have an
idea of how many prizes we have or need to get.
By the way, you can even ask a business for a donation.

MCMM SUMMER PICNIC
I want to thank Diane Williams for hosting
our summer picnic in Fenton. We had a
very nice turnout. In addition to the 19
members and their families in attendance we had the following new members join
us with their Mustangs: Rod Clay Sr. and Mary Jo Clay, Dave Clay, Rod Clay Jr.
and Kerry Meyers, Alan & Jeanne Haskell, Carl, Lisa and Julie Pearson. Thanks to Ada Hoard for providing the
games. The weather was great and a good
time was had by all.
