Those attending the “Be Cool” car show in Bay City and Essexville know what a great time we all had. Congratulations to our team that won the pit crew contest for second year in a row. The Corvette guys had us out-numbered but in the end our guys took the trophy. Also congratulations to Jim & Rose Maier who for the second year in a row got a trophy for their “66 Mustang. On Saturday the show was in Bay City, and then in the evening we were at Leif and Melissa’s wedding reception at their home which was a beautiful setting in their back yard. The show ended at Essexville on Sunday. All and all it was one great weekend.
One of the things that we are doing as a group is the Caseville show on August 21st. We will be leaving the Wal-Mart parking lot in Caro at about 9 am. The Wal-Mart store is located on M-81 just east of town. It takes almost an hour to get there through a lot of farm country and the show is right on the lake shore.
Another event that is most exciting is our annual picnic on August 27th at the Deerfield Park. There will be lots to eat and the games will be the water balloon toss, volley ball and horse shoes. There are swings and a slide for the kids there is about 1/8 mile of hard surface gravel but it is hard and you can bring your Mustang to the park. The park is located at 6120 Falkenberry Rd, those with a computer can go to Map Quest to get the directions.
Ruth and I will be going to the MCA Grand National show which is at Youngstown, Ohio over the Labor Day weekend. We will be leaving early on Friday morning and arriving Friday evening. If anyone would like to travel with us, you are welcome to join us for a fun weekend.
I have mentioned here before about the horns sticking on the older Mustangs. Mine was acting up earlier this year, so I just let it blow for a few seconds and it started to work again. The points on the inside seem to rust shut from not being used, so just blow it once in a while.
Remember don’t be a stranger.
I intend to live forever-so far so good.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.
A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.
