Tips/Comments
By Stan
First I would like to thank all the people that worked on the “Be Cool” show at Bay City. This was our first year that we were associated with them & also be a part of the show itself. Although the Corvettes sure had us out numbered, we did ok for our first year. We also got some new members that weekend. A lot of people like to associate with the Mustang & remember their younger days. The Mustangs were a lot cheaper than the Corvettes and there were so many more of them.
A big thank you to our guys that participated in the pit stop contest. They won the event and beat the Corvette people by more than two minutes. They got a huge trophy with their names on it & since it is a traveling trophy they get to keep it for one year. Hopefully, it will be at all of our club functions. I heard rumors that they were going to take up a collection for vitamin pills to give to the Corvette club for next year. Again thanks to Chris Jansen, Mike Winters, Michael Winters & Dominic Glasgow who were the pit team crew.
Our former meeting place is closed & is being sold, so we are holding our monthly meeting at the Bavarian Lodge in Frankenmuth. It will still be on the third Monday at 7:00 pm.
Keep watch in this newsletter or go on our website for all our activities. Our website address is: www.mustangclubmm.com. If you get a chance, check out our website & see all the Club pictures. Thanks to Jack Morton who does the work on our website.
Thanks to all who attended the annual picnic. There was lots of delicious food to eat and lots of socializing with fellow members.
Those wanting to go to the Wilson Barn show on Sunday, August 8th we will be leaving the Big Boy Restaurant in Clio at 6:00 am. and stopping at Andrico’s in Fenton approximately 6:45 pm and caravanning on into the show. There will not be a breakfast stop.
Remember don’t be a stranger.
What do you call four bullfighters in quicksand? Quatro sinko
What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire? Frostbite
Where do you find a dog with no legs? Right where you left him.

THE PREZ SEZ
I had to bargain with Ruth for a delayed date to get this to her. This will be a short one!
What a picnic we had on Sunday, August 1st. We had 45 members & their families & their guests. We also had 4 “drop-ins” with their Mustangs who looked at our cars, chatted with us & received a show flyer and a membership application brochure. We had old members & new members & the very new members present. There were 18 Mustangs on display from 1964 ½ to 2004. We had people of all ages enjoying the day including one as young as 4 months old. The Club provided the meat & this year we went with chicken on the grill.
Dick Lebsack was the “chief” griller with assistance from me. The chicken was delicious & went well with all the other great food that was brought by the members. The weather was just perfect for a picnic in the park.
Ada Hoard provided the games that everyone regardless of age could participate in. But best of all it was a great outing with lots of time to relax, chat & get acquainted or reacquainted with our fellow Mustang Club members.
The Club has another opportunity to display our Mustangs. This will be at the Auto Fest in Frankenmuth on Friday, Sept 10 through Sunday, Sept 12. On Friday, Sept 10 our cars will be on display at a special location on Main Street & for the balance of the weekend in a PONY CORRAL at Heritage Park. A big thank you to Country Street Machines, the Show hosts for their graciousness. Our goal is to secure a Mustang from each year for the past 40 years. This will be an opportunity to get our Club additional positive attention. If you have not been asked to show your car - you will be soon! Gary will be calling . . .
The last, but by far not the least is our MCMM Show which is coming up real soon. It is Sunday, September 19th at the Prime Outlets Mall in Birch Run. We need all the help that we can get for this show. We also will need help at our September regular meeting. Please note that this meeting is moved up a week- It will be the second Monday of the month instead of the usual third Monday.
The location is changed for this meeting also. It will be at the Thetford Township Hall, 4014 Vienna Road, Clio, MI at 7:00 pm. This change is to accommodate our goody bag stuffing. The meeting will follow. Directions to the hall are: Take Vienna Rd/M57 east from I-75. It is approximately 4 miles east from I-75, Exit #131. Gary Riley has secured this location for us.
