Tips/Comments By Stan
Are your old headlights and brake lights getting a little dim? These lights and the wiring that make them work are in most cases getting close to 40 years old. All of the supply houses make most of the things that will make them brighter.
A. For the tail lights I like to at least replace the lens cover. If you don’t want to replace the housing I have seen people line and glue in tin foil. This actually works and makes the tail lights brighter. Make sure the wiring is good and also has good connections. Take a little sandpaper and make the connections shiny and clean again. For the bulbs that are number 1157 replace them with 2057. These are the bulbs that the newer cars use and it makes the brake lights much brighter.
B. The head lights are usually in need of work also. On the older cars the wiring has been abused by heat and chafing and is usually brittle. This wiring is sold as a piece from the firewall forward. Again make sure that the connection where the headlight plugs into the wiring is nice and clean. You might want to put in new bulbs here also, the old ones get cloudy and dim over time.
Whatever you need it is a good time to
get it done as driving time for our mustangs is drawing near.
Al Rodgers e-mailed and said that he had bought a 1969 Mustang. Sure hope
that he brings it to our next meeting.

Committee Reports:
MEMBERSHIP - it was recommended that paid members contact members that have not paid to see if they are still interested in being with the Club. Gary updated everyone on who has paid.
SHOW & SHINE - Dick reports he and Gary went to All American Ford and secured the day of May 21st. Donations will be given to Saginaw County Veterans Association Memorial, located in Hoyt Park, Saginaw. Donation for cars to register is $10. Awards will be given by vendors picking the cars. All American Ford will be getting the fliers. All cars will be displayed on the birm in front of the dealership from 9:00 am-3:00 pm.
CRUISING FOR A CAUSE - several members have already signed up. The show date has changed from April 16th & 17th to probably the next weekend. Once the date is confirmed, we will let everyone know. Ten tickets have been purchased for Club members that are working. Anticipated times will be 9:00 am - 9:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am - 6:00 pm on Sunday. We will need to bring our own tables and chairs. There will be no judging and everyone gets an award. Club members can be together. Meet at Gary Strappazon’s house if you want to carpool.
PONY DRIVE - Ford Motor has pulled the plug on the 101 cars at X-plan pricing. Coordinator of the Pony Drive asked if MCMM could assist in bringing something to MI. The Pony Drive is scheduled to start in Cincinnati, OH on June 14th then to Dayton, OH on June 15th, then to National Mustang Show in Kansas City, MO for the weekend of June 23-26. Gary Strappazon & Mike Winter are working on getting the Pony Drive to Frankenmuth for the weekend of the Bavarian Festival, June 10, 11,12th. With Saturday, June 11th at Zehnder’s Park (same place as Auto Fest) and Sunday in the parade. Tim, President of MOCSEM is trying to organize a show and shine for Saturday, June 11th at Auto Alliance and arrange a plant tour. The vote was to organize the Pony Drive in MI with or without the help of MOCSEM in the Detroit area.
“BE COOL” SHOW - will be held July 9th & 10th. Registration includes both days. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
12TH ANNUAL MUSTANG & FORD SHOW - Mike Winter is trying to get the #99 NASCAR car that AAA is sponsoring for 4 races to be on display at our show in September.
OLD BUSINESS - Ten Club members went to Autorama.
NEW BUSINESS

from the Wilson Barn to Green Mead Historical Park in Livonia.
NEW EMBROIDERY BUSINESS - Deana Couper from Couper Creations in Frankenmuth has done hats and shirts with MCMM Club logos. Gary brought them to the meeting. She can be contacted by phone (989) 652-6781 or fax (989) 652-6651. Check out her work, she does a nice job.
There was a recommendation from the floor to commend Jack Morton for such a wonderful job on the Club website.

Renee & James Waswick won the 50/50 drawing of $10.50. Dick Lebsack and Del
Zimmerman each won a Ford penny and Leif Johnson won a Mustang License
Plate.
Respectfully submitted, Linda Strappazon standing in for Diane Williams
THE PREZ SEZ
We have 3 big events upcoming as a Club. I want to discuss them here. I will take them in chronological order.
First is a new event, “Crusin for a Cause”. This is already an event we have on the calendar, BUT the date and location both changed. The new dates are: Saturday & Sunday, April 23rd & 24th. That is one week later than originally scheduled. The new location is the Peranni Ice Area, previously known as the IMA Sports Arena. It is at I-69 and Center Road east of Flint. The hours are the same. Setup is Friday April 22nd 12 noon-8 pm. The times for Saturday are 9:00 am-9:00 pm and Sunday 9:00-6:00 pm. We will have 4 Club members’ cars on display. We also will have an information table staffed by members to distribute literature and answer questions. We still could use some more volunteers. Please call me, to volunteer.
The next is our second annual Show & Shine. It will be held at All American Ford on Bay Road in Saginaw. It will be on Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. We will need a few volunteers. Mostly, we need members to just bring their Mustangs out & have a good time.
Now on to the newest and possibly the most fun event of the summer. We voted at the March regular meeting to host the Pony Drive 2005 in Frankenmuth June 10-12. This visit will coincide with the annual Bavarian Festival. Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth has once again invited us to display our Mustangs right on Main Street in the Eddie Zehnder Park. They will have a band and a food concession there. Hopefully, we will have Mustangs from around the country. The Detroit/Flat Rock events have fallen apart at the last minute. There may be some events in Detroit, but we voted to do the MI portion with or without MOCSEM, etc. We are working on a sponsor for trophies, sponsors for a couple of banners - Ford Motor and our local Ford dealerships. We are trying to get the out-of-town Pony Drive people to be included in Sunday’s parade and possibly have a Cruise on Saturday night. This should be a lot of fun and will help to raise the profile of MCMM. Check the latest at: www.ponydrive.us
Remember Saturday, June 18th is our 12yh annual judging at KCQ Music Fest at Ojibway Island, Saginaw. We start about 7:00 am and are usually done by 11:30 am. Lunch is furnished by KCQ in their VIP tent. Please note that KCQ furnished our Club with about $16,000 of free advertising for our MCMM show in September. We will discuss this at our April 18th meeting.
Lastly, a big thank you to Jack Morton for his diligence and commitment as MCMM webmaster. You are doing a great job! Also, we need someone to volunteer to take over the Historian duties as Jack’s replacement.

Cream together:
2 sticks (1/2 lb.) margarine or butter (I use Imperial margarine)
2 cups brown sugar
1 ½ cups white sugar
2 TBS. vanilla
2 TBS. cinnamon
Add 3 eggs and beat for 4 minutes (and no less than 4 minutes)
Preheat oven to 350
degrees
Sir together and ADD to the above mixture:
6 cups sifted flour
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 ½ tsp soda
Mix until very well mixed. Dough will be sort of dry.
Add 4 cups chocolate chips and 2 cups chopped nuts, mix well.
Use a cookie dough scoop and place dough on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12
