TIPS/COMMENTS
BY STAN
As I said last month, the 40th Anniversary of the Mustang is really shaping up to be a show to be remembered. Oh the first few days will be sort of hectic, and everyone will have to learn their way around. When we get it all figured out it will be over and time to go home. It will be fun, and there is going to be something for everyone.
If you plan to go to our Club’s meeting in April in Frankenmuth, remember there is a date change due to some members going to the 40th Anniversary. It will be Tuesday, April 20th instead of Monday, April 19th. Also May is the month that most of us bring out our Mustangs to the May monthly meeting. It is great to see these Mustangs after a long winter.
I hope that everyone will consider
joining the Mustang Club of America, if you are not already a member. You
get a monthly magazine which is all reorganized and comes with bright,
glossy paper. The magazine alone is worth the subscription price.
Don’t forget if your car has been sitting all winter the brakes should be
bled. Old brake fluid collects moisture and will cause problems.
Have a suggestion? Want to talk? Come
to the monthly meeting. We can be contacted at rmb3909@earthlink.net
Remember don’t be a stranger.
What the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve, and those who persevere will be champions.
Why don’t blind people like to sky dive? Because it scares the dog.
Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words “THE” and “IRS” together it spells “THEIRS”?

MUSTANG CLUB OF MID-MICHIGAN MEETING 03-15-04
The March meeting was called to order by President, Gary Strappazon at Mancino’s restaurant in Frankenmuth, MI. Those in attendance were: Diane Williams, Chris & Mindy Jansen, Mary Leinberger, Dominic Glasgow, Gary Riley, Dick Lebsack and Linda & Gary Strappazon. There were no guests present. Written proxy votes were presented from: Stan Bentley (this meeting only) Rich & Susan Svatora (this meeting only) and Gregg Glaviano (winter months).
The minutes from the February meeting were amended to correctly read; “No letter will be sent at this time to Brian and/or Wendy Sutherland as it appears we have nearly all those last 3 years of requested records.” The Secretary’s report was approved with corrections.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed; Stand as presented.
Audit Committee report given by Gary Strappazon in absence of Jack Morton. There has been miscommunication between Gary Strappazon and Jack Morton and consequently nothing has been happening. Gary will get it together and proceed. There are still approximately 4 months of bank statements and cancelled checks still missing.
Membership Committee: The new membership packets are done and are sent to each new member when they join. Every member should have at least one of the new membership brochures with them. Rich, Dick and Gary will carry a bundle of them.
Trophy Committee: Mary and Linda report it is TOO COLD to meet!
Show and Shine: No report, meeting is scheduled for end of the month.

THE PREZ SEZ
It is hard to concentrate while sitting at the computer trying to write something that is understandable. With the days lengthening and warming we should all be in the garage working on our Mustangs.
The MCMM caravan leaves our area on Wednesday April 14th at 6 am. We will meet the Great Lakes Caravan to Nashville for the 40th Anniversary of our favorite car. We will have 5 Mustangs and a total of 6 families participating in parts of the caravan. We expect to see Paul and Jan Steinborn (Classic Automotive) down there. It is not too late to join us. Kevin and Kate Barnum have joined us since last month’s newsletter.
Show & Shine Co-chairs Dick Lebsack & Gary Strappazon have scheduled the Show & Shine. The date is Saturday, May 15th and will be held at the Birch Run Outlet Mall. The flyers should already be printed and will be available at the April meeting. This should be a fun event and a great first time out for a lot of our Mustangs and other collectible cars. This also will be a great time for our members to spend some time together and not be working really hard.
Jack Morton has been making great progress with the website. He has been making great improvements and well-needed updates. If you have an idea or suggestion regarding our website, let a Board of Director Member know, so we may work on it with Jack. We also need photographs of our Club member’s cars to put on the site. Check it out by visiting our site: www.mustangclubmm.com.
Please complete the “MCMM Your Mustang Profile”. If you have not received one, contact Rich Svatora @ (989) 689-5040 and he will send you one.
In discussing our 11th Annual MCMM show which will be held on September 19, 2004, Diane Williams had a wonderful idea for the show! How about featuring a Mustang from each year? I have had conversations with several members and everyone is very positive on the idea. After our 2003 show Stan Bentley coined the phrase “Run to Birch Run” and at our Christmas party it was chosen as our theme for our 2004 show. Remember we had a poster contest at the Christmas party and now we need helpers to produce them for the show. Help is needed for this semi-artistic job, any volunteers? Gary & Linda Riley have volunteered to work the spectator gate again this year. Thank you!
Linda Riley has volunteered to take over the MCMM Social Chair as Sharon Sutherland is no longer able to do it. Thanks again, Sharon for all your hard work. Linda needs to hear from members to update their information. She also needs contact from members with information of weddings, graduations, births, illnesses, hospitalizations and all other such events. She also needs to hear from new members with their information to add to the data base. Thanks.
We also have great news! After a winter hiatus, (in Florida maybe?) the parts bucket has turned up. Rumor has it that it will be at the April meeting. Don’t miss it.
We now have 12 MCA membership members on file. Thank you for your cooperation.
This is enough musings for now. It is time to start cleaning the Mustang for the Nashville trip.

CHEESY POTATOES
RECIPE PROVIDED BY JAN STEINBORN
In a large sauce pan mix together the butter, cheese, soup and sour cream and cook on low heat until melted. Add hash browns and mix well. Put into a sprayed 9x13 pan. Mix together corn flakes and butter. Put over the hash browns. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for one hour. Enjoy!
HERE IS WHAT IS DUE
THIS IS A REMINDER THAT YOUR DUES ARE DUE.
The Dues for all Mustangs Club of Mid-Michigan members are due January 1, 2004, regardless of when you last paid your dues. This is due to the recently ratified by-laws. As stated in Article #1, “Dues for the calendar year of January-December are to be paid to the Treasurer by February 28th”.
Regardless of when and/or how this is instituted, some will not be happy. The Board is implementing this as passed by the membership. The purpose of having everyone’s dues all due at the same time is to free up Board members’ time at other seasons of the year, to give the Board a projected income amount so as to write an annual budget and to simplify the books and the record keeping.
Also remember, this applies to the Board members also. We all have to pay now, even though some Board members just paid their dues recently.
Gary Strappazon, President on behalf of
the Board of Directors.
