FLAKY BISCUITS
RECIPE PROVIDED BY DIANE WILLIAMS
2 cup flour
4 tsp. baking powder
4 tsp. sugar
½ cup shortening
½ tsp. salt
drop one egg into a measuring cup and add milk
to make ¾ cup, mix with fork
Sift all dry ingredients into large bowl. Cut in shortening until flour resembles pea size pieces. Pour in milk mixture and stir with heavy fork until dough forms a ball. Place on floured board and knead a few seconds. Flatten with palm to about ½ inch thick. Cut with cutter and place on cookie sheet so they don’t touch. Bake 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
